Get cheeky with travel-friendly Benefit blush kit
Whether you’re jetting off on a weeklong vacation or packing for a quick weekend trip, makeup palettes are a great way to avoid hauling around a bulky makeup bag while you travel.
Combining multiple makeup products into one convenient package, palettes give travelers the ability to scale back on the amount of items they take without having to sacrifice their favorite products due to lack of space.
In this week’s Fab or Flub? product review, I’ll be taking a closer look at a new palette by Benefit Cosmetics that’s been earning a lot of buzz: the Cheekathon Blush Kit ($58, Sephora).
Containing everything you need to contour, sculpt and define, the all-in-one palette features five of Benefit’s bestselling powders in full-size versions (three blushes, a bronzer and a brightening powder) and a natural-bristle brush for application.
Lightweight and long-lasting, each powder is designed to be used individually or together to enhance your natural features and create a radiant complexion. Each powder is valued at $29, bringing the palette’s total value to $145.
First impression
While the palette is described as a blush kit, not all of the cheek products featured are blushes.
In addition to Benefit’s CORALista, Dallas and Rockateur blushes, the palette also includes the popular Hoola matte bronzer and a product called Dandelion that is more like a brightening powder than a blush.
To help users navigate the application process, the brand conveniently includes with each palette a pamphlet containing tips on how to apply each powder for maximum results.
Compared to other cheek products I’ve tried, the majority of the products in the Cheekathon Blush Kit err more on the subtle side and can be built up for a dramatic look when needed.
Fab or flub?
Fab! Heading out of town this summer? Then take the plunge and add Benefit’s Cheekathon Blush Kit to your travel makeup bag.
Packed with five full-size cheek products at a bargain price of under $60, the universally-flattering palette is a great way for makeup lovers to streamline the amount of products they take on their next vacation.
Offering a mixed range of blushes, bronzer and brightening powder, the palette supplies everything needed to create an everyday look that is natural and glowing.
While some palettes compromise quality for a budget-friendly price tag, the Cheekathon Blush Kit does not suffer this same fate. All five cheek products work exceptionally well, both on their own and together.
The palette is being touted as limited edition (it’s already sold out on the Benefit Cosmetics website), so I suggest snapping up this product while you still have a chance.
