Films at the Marq film festival launches in Southlake
Southlake based Apex Arts League is hosting the first Films at the Marq, a one-day, family-friendly film festival on May 7. The Marq is an events space in Southlake.
The free event blends a mix of movies and food as well as a symposium on making short films. Two of the three features being shown are from acclaimed animator Brad Bird. One is his debut feature from 1999, The Iron Giant, and the other is his 2007 film, Ratatouille. The remaining movie is Tai Chi Zero, a 2012 Chinese martial-arts film.
Weather permitting, the Iron Giant and Ratatouille screenings will be outdoors.
Also on the schedule is a lunch called A Taste of Film and a vodka tasting. There will also be a food truck on hand with products for sale. Films at the Marq starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 9 p.m. For more information, go to www.apex-arts.org.
The Marq is located at 285 Shady Oaks Drive, inside Bicentennial Park.
