‘Steve Harvey’ to feature Fort Worth couple

A Fort Worth couple is scheduled to appear on Monday afternoon’s epsiode of Steve Harvey, and one of them is going to get a makeover.

Nia Brown and her fiancé, Jo Preston will appear in a segment titled “Loves Her Man, But ...”. The “But,” in this case, is Preston’s hip-hop fashion sense.

“Nia was never interested in dating Jo when they were younger,” says a release, “because he hung out with the wrong crowd and had gold teeth, baggy clothes, gold chains and big rims on his car.”

Years later, Preston changed his look, and she gave him a chance -- and now they’re engaged, and their wedding is coming up soon. And he’s changed back to his old look. “Now that he’s 34 years old and a father,” the release says, “Nia would like for Jo to change up his look to not be so flashy.”

In a preview clip, Preston says he’s willing to change -- although he doesn’t entirely get the big deal. “My granny and my mother, they’ve got gold teeth in their mouths, and my four brothers have got gold in their mouths.”

This results in one of Harvey’s classic looks of baffled exasperation. But Harvey, who says his wife Marjorie helped him change his own style, is on the case.

Spoiler alert: Harvey’s personal style team gives Preston a makeover. But we won’t say more than that. The episode, which is part of “Love Week” on Harvey’s show, will air at 2 p.m. CST Monday on KXAS/Channel 5.
