Places to go: Dec. 27 and later
▪ Take a nature hike with a Spanish-speaking guide, 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday, or a “Winter Wonderland” hike, 1-3 p.m. Monday, and view birds and animals on the trails of the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge. Meet at the Hardwicke Interpretive Center for the hikes, which are free with paid admission ($2-$5). On Tuesday and Thursday, the center will have bison feeding hayrides. They are held daily at 10-11:30 a.m. and 1-2:30 p.m. Participants will assist staff in feeding the animals and learn about bison management practices. Registration required. Cost is $16 per person, age 3 and older, and $8 for members.
Register for a full-moon paddle, 5-7:30 p.m. Friday. It’s $20, $15 members. Canoes, paddles and life jackets are provided. 9601 Fossil Ridge Road, Fort Worth, 817-392-7410; www.fwnaturecenter.org.
