Malcolm McDowell to appear at Lone Star Film Festival
Veteran British actor Malcolm McDowell, famous for roles in A Clockwork Orange and O, Lucky Man, is being given the Achievement in Film Acting award at this year’s Lone Star Film Festival in Fort Worth. It will be presented to him by Fort Worth native son and actor Bill Paxton. The festival runs Nov. 5-8 at venues in Sundance Square including the AMC Palace.
The presentation will take place as part of the Lone Star Film Festival Ball on Nov. 6.
In addition, McDowell will be on a Nov. 6 panel with Paxton and actress Joanna Kerns (Growing Pains) called Career Conversations. Other scheduled panels include Women in Film, Entertainment and Social Change, and the State of Film. Film critic David Edelstein, from New York magazine, CBS Sunday Morning, and NPR’s Fresh Air, is giving the keynote speech.
