Indoor Ragdoll Cat Has the Biggest Adventure at Pet-Friendly Petting Zoo

It's hard knowing that our pets' lives mostly take place within our own four walls at home, so making sure they get to go on adventures has always been important to me. My dog has traveled with me on several occasions, and of course, it's obviously more work on vacation, but so worth the extra effort.

So I totally understand why this family wanted to bring their Ragdoll cat, Atticus, to a pet-friendly zoo, and I'm pretty sure his mind was blown the entire time he was there.

original sound - Atticus the Ragdoll

He explored while on a leash and in his comfy stroller, and he looked amazed to see so many different animals. His parents said that his favorite was the bunnies, and that clip is too adorable. He's peeking in on their habitat so gently!

He seemed freaked out by the emus, but let's face it-emus can be pretty intimidating creatures.

Riding around the farm in that stroller, Atticus was on alert, keeping his head on a swivel. He didn't want to miss a thing!

How To Find Pet-Friendly Zoos

While many zoos are only open to service animals-and for good reason, it's hard to pet-proof a zoo filled with all kinds of animals-zoos where you are able to bring your pets are out there, depending on where you live.

Many zoos, like Elmwood Park Zoo in Pennsylvania, have dedicated pet-friendly days, and many wildlife parks and safari zoos (where you're able to drive through in your own vehicle) do allow animals.

If you're not able to find a pet-friendly zoo in your area and think your dog or cat would love having an adventure like Atticus did, you might have better luck checking in with local farms that are open to the public. They may allow leashed pets to come check out their animals (from a safe distance, of course).

It really is a shame that it isn't easier for our pets to go to the zoo. We love it, so why wouldn't they?
