Webb County jailer arrested for allegedly assaulting girlfriend

A Webb County jailer was arrested in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident Friday, according to Laredo police.

Police said the 20-year-old suspect is a Webb County jailer.

Officers responded to the incident at 3:57 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of Dorel Drive.

Police said officers investigated and determined an argument led to the suspect assaulting his girlfriend. Paramedics treated the girlfriend for visible injuries allegedly caused by the incident.

Police arrested the suspect and charged him with assault causing bodily injury to a family member and interference with an emergency request for assistance. Both charges are Class A misdemeanors.

The suspect was issued a $10,000 bond for the first charge and a $5,000 bond for the second charge. He posted bond on both charges Saturday. This is his first arrest record.
