With her little chin perched right on a jar of olives, Assistant Harley fell asleep helping put away the groceries. Commenters were all in unison about how cute the moment was:
"Protecting the food is hard work, she just needs a wee nap "
"She's testing the strength of the lid! It appears very sturdy!"

How Much Sleep Dogs Need
Dogs actually need a lot more sleep than people might think! Puppies need between 16 and 20 hours of sleep per day to support their growing brains and bodies. But even adult dogs still sleep quite a bit. Adults sleep between 12 and 14 hours a day and senior dogs (dogs older than 7) revert back to needing more sleep in their twilight years, once again requiring over 14 hours because they tend to tire out faster than their younger counterparts.
Dogs are polyphasic sleepers unlike humans, meaning they break their sleep cycles into multiple periods throughout the day rather than in one long stretch. Typically a dog will sleep around 8 hours per night, and then break up the remainder of their sleep during the day. Dogs will even "half sleep" so they're semi-alert and able to wake quickly, which is part of their natural instincts.
Dogs may not always fall asleep in the middle of something like Miss Harley, but if they do it's probably best case not to wake them. They'll be available to help put the olives away after their nap.
