Places to go: Nature-friendly activities in the DFW area this week

▪ Learn about grasses and other plants on a hike with a naturalist at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bob Jones Nature Center. At 3 p.m. Friday, kids can learn about native species and how they adapt or migrate. Bring water, a hat and insect repellent.

Or join a star-gazing party, 8:45-10 p.m. Friday, at the center. The event is free but space is limited; it will be canceled for bad weather or poor viewing conditions. ▪ Join a bilingual naturalist for a “Nature en Espanol” hike, 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge.
