▪ Attend River Legacy Living Science Center’s Earth Day celebration, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Activities include nature hikes, animal explorations, story time with the Arlington Public Library, games and more. Kids can plant wildflower chia pets, create art from recycled materials and study snakes and turtles. ▪ The Fort Worth Botanic Garden hosts a “bring your own wagon” spring sale 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Many North Texas garden clubs and societies like the North Texas Daylily Society will participate. 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd. 817-392-5510; http://fwbg.org.

▪ Rain or shine, the Parker County master gardeners’ spring plant sale is set for 8 a.m.-noon Saturday at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension office, 604. N. Main St., Weatherford. For more information, visit the Facebook page or www.pcmg-texas.org.

▪ Take a stroll along the fossil-rich Caprock Trail with a naturalist at 1 or 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge. ▪ Learn about plants that attract butterflies and hummingbirds during a free clinic at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at all area Calloway’s stores. www.calloways.com.

▪ Create a living wreath with master gardener Nancy Curl at a meeting of the Arlington Garden Club, 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Fielder Museum, 1616 W. Abram St., Arlington. Contact Geraldine Mills, 817-460-4001, with any questions, or visit the club’s Facebook page.

▪ The Botanical Research Institute of Texas and the city of Fort Worth are selling 50-gallon Ivy rain barrels to North Texas residents at a reduced price of $72.50 through April 18. The rain barrels may be purchased with a credit card at www.rainbarrelprogram.org/britfortworth. Rain barrel pickup is 9 a.m.-noon April 18 in the BRIT parking lot, 1700 University Drive.

▪ Get your gardening questions answered with a call to the Tarrant County Master Gardener Association help desk, 817-884-1944. Hours are 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

▪ Johnson County Master Gardeners also answer gardening questions and give advice 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays. Call the Johnson County Extension Office at 817-556-6370 and ask to speak to a master gardener.
