Nature-friendly places to go in DFW starting July 23
▪ Join a beginner’s bird ID walk with master birder Walt Berk, 8:30 a.m. July 23, at the Southwest Nature Preserve, 5201 Bowman Springs Road, Arlington. www.swnp.org

▪ Sit on the dock at the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge and learn about aquatic invertebrates such as water scorpions, water boatmen and more, 1-3 p.m. July 23.
From 1 to 2:30 p.m. July 24, learn about wildflowers such as brown-eyed Susans, blazing stars and lemon beebalm that can take the summer heat. Both programs are free with paid admission ($2-$5).
At 8:30 p.m. July 28, join a naturalist in a study of moths and other flying insects during a Nature Center After Hours program. It’s $10 plus admission.
