This massive annual CrossFit event is coming to Fort Worth. Here’s what to expect

The CrossFit fitness brand is bringing its annual championship weekend to the Will Rogers Memorial Center in August.

The three-day event is the Olympics of CrossFit: it’ll bring athletes from all over the world to Cowtown to compete for the title of “Fittest on Earth.”

This year, the events on Aug. 8-11 will feature a spectator experience as well.

Likened to the MLB All-Star Village, the experience will include multiple daily workouts for spectators hosted by credentialed CrossFit trainers, a merchandise sale, weightlifting classes and workout classes geared towards CrossFit trainers and professionals.

The event is the perfect opportunity for first-timers and those curious about CrossFit to get involved, Heather Lawrence, a spokesperson for the brand, said.

“When you’re surrounded by the energy of the CrossFit community, you can’t help but want to pick up a barbell or get a little coaching on movements,” Lawrence said.

A Texas native will be among those vying for a title that weekend.

Arielle Loewen of Midland was named the Fittest Woman in the United States in 2023, and is hoping to secure a second-straight podium finish, Lawrence said.

Thirty-three countries will be represented in the lineup, and event highlights include an opening ceremony and a community workout to be hosted at Farrington Field, Lawrence said.
