Rockin’ the River wraps season with special Saturday show
Rockin’ the River, the popular concert series staged at Panther Island Pavilion on the Trinity River, will draw to a close Saturday with something it has never done in its six years of existence.
“Since we started Rockin’ the River six years ago, our tubers have asked for the opportunity to float the river and enjoy a concert on a weekend,” says J.D. Granger, Trinity River Vision Authority executive director. “This year we’re responding to those requests and capping the season in style.”
The music kicks off at 1 p.m. Saturday, with a line-up that includes Cooder Graw, Brandon Steadman, Aaron Einhouse and Statesboro Revue.
In addition to the free live music, patrons will be able to float in the Trinity River, enjoy food from Salsa Limon or hang out in the Coors Riverfront Ice House. The Joey Green Band will perform at the after party, following a fireworks display.
