Funky Town Music & Film Festival announced for 2017
Fort Worth, by almost every estimation, is as creatively vibrant as it has ever been.
To capitalize on that positive artistic momentum, a new event — Funky Town Music & Film Festival — is being planned for next year.
Details about specifics (where, who, when, etc.) are scarce at the moment, but the festival’s organizers, Adonis Rose and Carlos Aguilar, plan to reveal more information at a press event on Aug. 12 in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
Per a statement from the festival organizers, final details are “currently being organized in tandem with city representatives” and will be announced at a later date.
“Funky Town Music & Film Festival is [a] cultural amplification of all the vibrancy and growth that is happening in Fort Worth, Texas,” reads the festival website. “Funky Town Festival will be a destination event in North Texas, hosting world renowned talent, Texas talent, and entertainment industry influencers that are also committed to the long-term goal of developing our next generation [of] filmmakers, musicians and artists. Our mission and vision is to be a platform for music and film education and preservation, while highlighting the city’s rich creative history.”
