Global Day of Discovery set for downtown Fort Worth
This afternoon, Fort Worth’s music scene will be on full display at the Worthington Renaissance Fort Worth hotel downtown.
Billed as the “Global Day of Discovery,” the free event, which kicks off at 5 p.m., will feature a handful of musical performances, booked by local advocacy group Hear Fort Worth. (Full disclosure: I sit on the board of Hear Fort Worth.)
The line-up features some of Fort Worth’s sharpest musical talents: Kevin Aldridge, Summer Dean, Grady Spencer, Joe Savage, Reagan James and Luke Wade will perform in the Worthington’s lobby.
A free shuttle will also be ferrying visitors to and from Panther Island Pavilion, for tonight’s installment of Rockin’ the River, which kicks off the 2016 season.
In addition, visitors will be able to sample other aspects of Cowtown culture, as bartenders from Proper will be on hand, serving up TX Whiskey & Acre Distillery beverages, as well as wine from Times Ten Cellars and beer from Martin House and Rahr breweries.
