Tickets for the public went on sale Friday for an April appearance of Bill Nye, “the science guy,” at the University of North Texas.
Nye will speak at 8 p.m. April 6 at the UNT Coliseum as part of the school’s Distinguished Lecture Series.
Admission is $20 for individual tickets or $10 each for 10 or more.
University spokeswoman Leslie Minton said she expects tickets to be sold out by Monday. About 8,000 were available, and around 5,000 student tickets had been taken.

Nye is well known for hosting the Public Broadcasting Service TV program Bill Nye the Science Guy, which has won 19 Emmy Awards, according to IMDb.
Nye will speak in the UNT Coliseum, 600 Ave. D in Denton.
