Hangman’s House of Horrors’ Mission: Apocalypse nights aren’t the only ways to get into the zombie spirit this summer and beyond. Special events and new movies, as well as new and returning TV shows, mean that every night can be your night of the living dead.

Here’s what’s coming:

Events

Fort Worth Zombie Crawl: The annual Cowtown pub crawl for “beer and brains” returns Oct. 17. www.facebook.com/fwzombiecrawl

Zombie Apocalypse Fun Run: This is a 5K/10K event where you can dress as a zombie or zombie slayer. 9 a.m. Oct. 24. Waterloo Lake Pavilion, Denison. For more information, go to the Greater Texoma Health Clinic Facebook page.

Walker Stalker Con: This traveling zombie convention comes to Dallas next year with its blend of celebrities, cosplay, panels and special events. March 5 and 6, 2016. Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, 650 S. Griffin St., Dallas. $45-$55 general admission, $100 weekend pass. Children 10 and younger free with adult. walkerstalkercon.com

Television

Fear the Walking Dead: The trailer for this Walking Dead spinoff — set in L.A. during the actual zombie takeover as opposed to after the fact like the original series — looks like it’s going to be action-packed, kill-or-be-killed slam-o-rama. Premieres 8 p.m. Aug. 23, AMC.

The Walking Dead: If you missed any of this hit series, AMC is in the middle of Sunday marathons of previous seasons. Season two episodes begin Sunday at 7:30 a.m. Season three airs Aug. 9, season four Aug. 16, and season five Aug. 23, which will lead into the premiere of Fear the Walking Dead. You’ll have to wait a bit for the new season of The Walking Dead. It returns 8 p.m. Oct. 11.

Z Nation: Sharknado may have earned SyFy more press but the less tongue-in-cheek and more terrifying Z Nation, set three years into the zombie apocalypse, earned the network more credibility among horror fans. The series’ second season returns 9 p.m. Sept. 11.

iZombie: Co-created by Rob Thomas of Veronica Mars fame, this drama about a crime-solving zombie was enough of a hit for The CW that it got picked up for a second season set to start 8 p.m. Oct. 6.

Ash vs. Evil Dead: Horror/comic-book/geek kids are going crazy over this. Sam Raimi (the original “Evil Dead” movies, Spider-Man 2) has re-united with Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell and Xena: Warrior Princess/Battlestar Galactica’s Lucy Lawless for a half-hour “horror sitcom” that updates us on what Ash — the hero from the “Evil Dead” films — is doing now as an undead plague threatens the planet. The series debuts Oct. 31 (of course) on Starz.

Movies

Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse: Halston Sage (Paper Towns), Tye Sheridan (Mud), and Patrick Schwarzenegger (Grown Ups 2) star in this comedy about Boy Scouts who have to save their town from zombies. Oct. 30.

Welcome to Essex: This British film is about a group of survivors of the zombie plague in search of a rumored rescue area near the Essex coast. Dec. 18.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Based on the bestseller from Seth Grahame-Smith (the guy who wrote Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), this feature film takes Jane Austen’s placid world and fills it with the undead. Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) stars. February 2016.
