Artist, vendor applications now open for 20th local art festival in Fort Worth
Near Southside local art festival ArtsGoggle will celebrate its 20th year Oct. 21 and applications for artists and refreshment vendors are now open.
ArtsGoggle is a free-to-the-public, family-friendly annual event event which hosts over a thousand visual artists, 50 musical performances along with food and beverages.
The event started 20 years ago as the Near Southside’s indoor gallery night meant to showcase the district’s revitalization efforts. Now, ArtsGoggle stretches over a mile along Magnolia Avenue with area businesses offering sales.
How to apply
Applications for artists, refreshments and venues are due by July 14.
The non-refundable artist application fee is $100. Students of all ages can get a $50 discounted rate by emailing natalie@nearsouthsidefw.org or megan@nearsouthsidefw.org with details about the age, current enrollment, and artistic experience of the artist
Artists who have private arrangements with an indoor ArtsGoggle venue qualify for a $50 discounted rate. Email megan@nearsouthsidefw.org the name of the indoor venue to receive the Indoor Artist Discount Code before you purchase your application.
To participate, artists must:
- Sell or showcase art the participating artist made
Artwork must be deemed appropriate for a festival environment
Must be in attendance the day of the event
Must apply individually, even if you are planning to share a booth space with another participating artist
Applications for food, sweets and drinks vendors are free. If approved, vendors will have to pay a flat fee of $250 to participate.
Food vendor criteria includes:
- freshly prepared lunch and dinner cuisine
- non-alcoholic drinks such as coffee, tea or specialty beverages
- handheld snack items such as baked goods, snow cones, popcorn and pretzels
Near Southside businesses, property owners and spaces wishing to host artists or entertainment during ArtsGoggle can apply for a vendor applications for free.
Near Southside, Inc. member businesses located in the Near Southside district can participate for free. Non-member vendors located in the Near Southside district have to pay $100 to participate if accepted.
To qualify, venues must:
- Have an artist or artists showcasing their artwork
- Live music or performance art
- An ArtsGoggle specific menu
- An artistic experience that adds value to the event
Musicians and performers can fill out a booking inquiry form to be considered for a 45-minute set on one of two ArtsGoggle stages.
