Fort Worth Museum of Science and History won’t open in mid-July as planned

The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History was supposed to reopen to visitors in mid-July, but concerns over increasing COVID-19 cases put those plans on hold.

The museum announced Monday in a news release that because of the spike in cases in the Metroplex during the past two weeks, the “difficult” decision was made to delay the reopening.

The museum did not provide a target date when it would open its doors.

“We have been preparing for our reopening since the day the Museum closed its doors and have been working hard to continue to offer fun, safe experiences during these challenging times. However, as a responsible member of the community we need to respect the recommendation of healthcare professionals to eliminate unnecessary visitor contact,” according to the news release.

The museum has plenty of online activities for kids and adults to do from home.
