Fort Worth’s Lone Star Film Festival has been named one of the 50 American film festivals worth the filmmakers’ entry fee by Moviemaker Magazine, a national publication aimed at independent filmmakers. This marks the third consecutive year that Lone Star has made the list.

Other regional festivals that made the alphabetical list include the Austin Film Festival (not to be confused with the South by Southwest Film Festival), the Victoria TX Independent Festival, and Oklahoma City’s deadCenter Film Festival. Also on the list are such nationally recognized festivals as Slamdance in Utah and the Seattle International Film Festival.

Criteria for being on the list included programming quality, value of prizes, and acquisition potential.

The next Lone Star Film Festival runs in November.
