Hayes Carll at Majestic Theatre

It’s a sensitive time — feelings are a little raw in post-election America — and the holiday season following so closely behind such a contentious contest all but cries out for soothing, thoughtful sounds. Fortunately for North Texans, singer-songwriter Hayes Carll will be passing through town to share his finely wrought songs in one of the most ideal concert settings in the region. Pulling from his latest LP, the superb Lovers and Leavers, as well as the rest of his exquisite catalog, Carll will provide a healing sonic balm for troubled souls. An extra incentive to arrive early: Powerhouse Oklahoma troubadour John Moreland opens the show.

8 p.m. Saturday. Majestic Theatre, Dallas. $22-$72.

106.1 KISS FM Jingle Ball at American Airlines Center

It’s time once again for radio stations to herd a crop of today’s up-and-coming talents into an arena for some corporation-branded merriment! This year’s 106.1 KISS FM Jingle Ball will descend upon Dallas’ American Airlines Center with a host of fresh young faces: Meghan Trainor, Fifth Harmony, Alessia Cara and Charlie Puth are among those scheduled to perform, with the head-scratching outlier Backstreet Boys also on the bill. There will be blinding lights, brief sets and copious screaming for whichever singles of the moment are performed, all brought to you by a blitzkrieg of advertising — making the whole evening, in the spirit of the season, not unlike a last-minute trip to the mall. With the Chainsmokers, Daya, Lukas Graham and Hailee Steinfeld.

7:30 p.m. Tuesday. American Airlines Center, Dallas. $51-$156.
