As the live episodes of The Voice’s 11th season began Monday, four North Texans — Austin Allsup, Dana Harper, Josh Halverson and Simone Gundy — were in contention to advance to the next round of competition.

Allsup’s fellow North Texans performed ably, whether it was Dana Harper’s take on Hall & Oates’ Maneater ...
... or Josh Halverson’s run at Sam Cooke’s Cupid ...
... or Simone Gundy’s crack at Rihanna’s Diamonds.
But, in the end, Allsup prevailed, and will continue on, representing coach Blake Shelton as the top 12 is steadily whittled down over the coming month to arrive at the winner of The Voice’s 11th season. Stay tuned.
