Watch Kacey Musgraves perform with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders
This past weekend, East Texas native Kacey Musgraves kicked off the State Fair of Texas with a headlining performance that featured some appropriately Texan guests.
According to a report from Rolling Stone, as Musgraves launched into her cover of Nancy Sinatra’s These Boots are Made for Walkin’, she was joined by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. (Musgraves had actually crossed paths with DCC prior to this collaboration, appearing on the Sept. 22 episode of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team, where a few aspiring squad members performed a routine to Musgraves’ Blowin’ Smoke.)
The only thing that would’ve made that performance more loaded with Lone Star pride is if Musgraves tossed Fletcher’s corny dogs into the crowd.
This gig was Musgraves’ second appearance in North Texas this year, following a January stop at the Majestic Theatre, but will not be her last.
She’ll make a return trip to Billy Bob’s Texas on Dec. 21, as part of the brief tour supporting her debut holiday album, A Very Kacey Christmas, due out Oct. 28. The album features collaborations with Willie Nelson, Leon Bridges and the Quebe Sisters.
Tickets for her Dec. 21 concert at Billy Bob’s go on sale Friday.
