With the release this week of her debut as an author — the children’s book River Rose and the Magical Lullaby — Fort Worth-born and Burleson-bred pop superstar Kelly Clarkson has been making the promotional rounds.

Among the many interviews Clarkson has given over the last several days, the most revealing was the one she gave to Entertainment Weekly, wherein she talked about her forthcoming Atlantic Records debut.

But, as has often been the case in Clarkson’s career, her most memorable chats have been on television, where she can show off her plain-spoken, often hilarious personality. So far, she’s appeared on Ellen ...

She dropped by Late Night with Seth Meyers, where she revealed a cringeworthy anecdote about her and President Obama ...

And she stopped by Today, to chat with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb ...

Speaking of the president, Clarkson has been selected, along with Chance the Rapper and Yolanda Adams, to perform at the National Christmas Tree Lighting at the White House on Dec. 1. A ticket lottery to attend the event opens Friday, and more information can be found here. Clarkson’s next TV appearance is scheduled for tonight, as a guest on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live on Bravo.
