Taylor Swift's Wedding Has Plenty of Athletes - And Not Just Travis Kelce's Teammates
It turns out Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were not already married - after rumors swirled that the ceremony may have happened earlier this week.
Friday, July 3 was wedding day, with Adam Sandlerserving as the celebrity couple's officiant.
The iconic comedian, 59, wasn't the one big name in attendance, of course. Fans of Kelce's know he's an athlete by trade, and there were plenty of other sports stars gracing Madison Square Garden on the federal holiday.
If you're from Los Angeles, chances are you know of Matthew Stafford, for instance, the Rams' star quarterback. Though he and Kelce, 36, have never played together, USA Today reports that Stafford, 38, was spotted at the grand event with his wife.
Fun fact: In 2024, the Stafford family dressed up as Kelce and Swift, 36, for Halloween. Check out their hilarious getups in Kelly Stafford's Instagram post below, captioned, "Six Swifties & a stubborn stache."
Then there's former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, who recently posted a photo of himself all suited up to his Instagram Stories with the caption, "Wedding SZN."
Plus, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield posed in a selfie with former football player Beau Allen, a reported friend of the Kelces who posted the two-shot photo to his X account earlier on Friday.

And then there's Sandler, a comedian and actor by trade - but who also has some serious sports skills, if anyone knows about his pickup basketball history. Fans will recall he acted alongside Kelce in Happy Gilmore 2 and has been called a friend of the couple. Not only that, but his family is big fans of Swift. In an interview with Billboard that same year, Sandler admitted that his daughters are huge Swifties.
"Everything [my two daughters] throw on I love, but one of the first ones they threw on when they were young was ‘The Best Day,'" Sandler said. "We connected with that when the kids were young. Every album, we listen the first day it comes out. There's not a song they don't know every word to."
