A Legendary 60s Rock Band Just Announced a Surprise New Single
A legendary British rock band that defined the 1960s and somehow never really stopped reinventing themselves is back with new music.
The Rolling Stones have announced a brand-new single, "Jealous Lover," arriving June 26, 2026.
It's the latest preview of their upcoming studio album Foreign Tongues, due out July 10 via Capitol Records. The song is already shaping up to be another reminder that longevity doesn't have to mean standing still.
Following the punchy, upbeat energy of earlier release "In the Stars," the new track shifts gears into something smoother and more sultry.
"Jealous Lover" leans into a soulful R&B groove, built around a warm, hypnotic rhythm and a vocal performance that finds Mick Jagger slipping into a striking falsetto as he delivers the song's pointed lyrical narrative.
At its core, the track plays like a knowing exchange between charm and suspicion. Jagger, 82, narrates a playful but cutting warning to a partner whose curiosity might be getting out of hand. It's delivered with the kind of wit and attitude that has long defined the band's storytelling style, where humor and tension often sit side by side.
Musically, the song thrives on texture and interplay. Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood weave together guitar lines that feel loose but intentional, locking into a groove that never overstays its welcome.
The rhythm section-Darryl Jones on bass and Steve Jordan on drums-anchors everything with a steady, deeply felt pulse. Longtime collaborator Steve Winwood adds rich Rhodes and organ layers, while additional touches from producer Andrew Watt and keyboardist Matt Clifford round out the track's warm, analog feel.
"Jealous Lover" doesn't try to chase trends or recreate past eras. It simply slides into a space the group has been refining for years: blues, rock, soul and swagger, all filtered through a modern studio lens.
