'Big Bang Theory''s New Spinoff Finally Reveals Release Date and First Teaser Trailer
Holy crap on a cracker! The official release date and first teaser trailer for HBO Max's Big Bang Theoryspinoff, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, have arrived.
The long-awaited series, starring Kevin Sussman as Stuart Bloom, officially premieres July 23 on HBO Max. Fans can now get a glimpse of what's in store for the comic book store owner and his friends. The trailer opens with Bert (Brian Posehn) entering Stuart's comic shop, followed by a montage of scenes featuring a wormhole, an alternate version of Stuart, flying dragons, combat soldiers, drones, and an appearance by another very familiar Big Bang Theory star.
"My childhood has led me to this moment," Stuart says in the teaser, and surely many longtime Big Bang Theory viewers might feel the same as the Stuart Fails debut approaches. As previously reported by PARADE, the series centers on a "device" created by Big Bang Theory characters Leonard and Sheldon, which ends up triggering a multiverse apocalypse. To save the universe, Stuart enlists the help of his friends Bert, a geologist, and Barry (John Ross Bowie), a quantum physicist, along with his girlfriend, Denise (Lauren Lapkus).
Stuart Fails to Save the Universe is the newest sitcom to be released as part of the Big Bang Theory franchise, following in the footsteps of Young Sheldon and George & Mandy's First Marriage. Unlike The Big Bang Theory, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe is a single-camera sitcom. Big Bang Theory creators Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, along with X-Men: The Last Stand screenwriter Zak Penn, are at the helm as creators, writers, and executive producers.
All 12 seasons of The Big Bang Theory are available to watch on HBO Max.
