Trader Joe's Fans Swear This Viral New Shampoo Is a Dupe for Luxury Haircare Brands

Budget beauty lovers may have just found their next holy grail.

Trader Joe's shoppers are buzzing over a new bonding shampoo and conditioner, with many comparing the affordable duo to high-end haircare staples from Olaplex, Kérastase, and Aveda.

Priced at just $7.99 each, the new products have quickly captured attention online. By comparison, luxury shampoos from brands mentioned above often retail between $30 and $45 per bottle, making Trader Joe's latest launch a major steal.

Natasha Fischer of Trader Joe's List spotlighted the products in a recent Instagram video. "Trader Joe's might have just recreated a really popular high-end hair product, and the price difference alone is kind of wild," she said.

According to Fischer, the formulas are designed to nourish and hydrate using innovative ingredients. "It's powered by plant-based bonding agents formulated with hydrolyzed keratin and silk to nourish and hydrate," she explained, reading from the packaging.

Allure states that bonding shampoos are formulated to repair and strengthen hair by reconnecting broken bonds within the hair shaft-damage often caused by heat styling, chemical treatments and environmental stress. By restoring these internal structures, such products help improve elasticity, reduce breakage and enhance overall shine, making them a staple for many.

"Ran the ingredients through chatgpt and it's actually a best match for Aveda's Botanical Repair not olaplex or redken products," one user noted in the comments of the video.

Another revealed, "These are so good. The pair as as good as Kerastase. My hair is soft and silky. Absolutely perfect combination."

"They're SO good! My hair has never felt better!" a third chimed in.

Trader Joe's is known for producing high-quality dupes for many beauty products as a fraction of the cost. Some other notable mentions include the cult-favorite Cacay Oil Body Butter ($7), which shoppers say rivals the warm, luxe scent of Baccarat Rouge 540 Body Lotion ($80). The Daily Facial Mineral Sunscreen SPF 40 ($13) has also earned praise for its lightweight, primer-like finish, drawing comparisons to Supergoop's Unseen Sunscreen ($38). In the haircare aisle, Trader Joe's Hair Oil ($6) is frequently likened to Olaplex No.7 Bonding Oil ($32) for its ability to smooth frizz and boost shine.
