Harrison Ford Says He Unintentionally Hummed the 'Indiana Jones' Theme While Filming 'Shrinking'
Harrison Fordrevealed that a Shrinking easter egg was entirely unintentional.
During an Apple FYC event on Sunday, April 12, Ford shared that the season 3 moment where his character is humming the Indiana Jones theme song was unplanned.
"I didn't know that what I was … well, the melody that I was mouthing was ["The Raiders March"] from Indiana Jones," he said.
This revelation came when the cast discussed Ford's lengthy career and nods to his past that made it into the latest season of the comedy series. Ford said that he was just as surprised as viewers when watching the episodes back.
Being in them is different than watching them," Ford said. "And it's often surprising to me when I watch it."
Ford's Shrinking co-star Jason Segal asked the actor is he thought he "made that up" when he was humming the song.
"No," Ford responded. "I just thought it was some kind of familiar thing."
Ford then shared how the iconic theme song composed by John Williams has become a part of his everyday life.
"As I told John Williams in a speech at a tribute to him, they were playing that f***ing song when I went into the operating room for the colonoscopy," he quipped.
Ford portrays Dr. Paul Rhoades in Shrinking, a senior therapist navigating Parkinson's disease. Shrinking's co-creator, Bill Lawrence, praised Ford at the FYC event for his portrayal of Parkinson's.
"It is a burden to play a real condition as an actor. I can't do justice to how seriously Harrison takes that responsibility," Lawrence said.
All episodes of Shrinking all available to stream on Apple TV.
