Kendrick Lamar & SZA’s Grand National Tour concert at AT&T Stadium: 5 things

Rapper Kendrick Lamar and singer-songwriter SZA entertained thousands at AT&T Stadium on Saturday night, April 26.

The duo started their Grand National Tour this month following the release of Lamar’s sixth album, “GNX.” The concert in Arlington featured new songs, reimagining of old favorites, and stunning visuals.

Here are five things I saw at the Kendrick Lamar and SZA Grand National Tour stop in Arlington, Texas.

Remixed versions of old favorites

Lamar manages to breathe new life into his older songs. The rapper, who performed with SZA in February at the Super Bowl 2025 half-time show in New Orleans, did an acappella version of “Swimming Pools” at the AT&T Stadium show and switched up the instrumental “m.A.A.d City” and “Count Me Out.”

SZA with lots of praying mantis motifs

If you’ve been on the internet long enough and are at least minutely aware of SZA, you’d know that SZA like bugs. She’s starred in videos dressed as a bug. Throughout the concert, whenever SZA was on screen, so were images of insects or a dancer dressed as a praying mantis.

An unreleased song

Lamar performed plenty of favorites that concertgoers could sing along to, but he also rapped one unknown song. According to internet rumors, it might be called “Bodies,” but either way fans got to hear a new song.

Flying SZA

The visuals and real effects during the concert went above and beyond, and SZA’s went the extra mile. During her last solo song, SZA was flown in the air in a harness with butterfly wings attached to her.

“Not Like Us”

Lamar has called himself the biggest hater, therefore his concert would not be complete without allusion to the Drake fight. Fans waited for Lamar to perform “Not Like Us,” and unlike during the Super Bowl half-time show, he didn’t tease it out. The song was the hit of the night.
