Madonna, the artist many Gen X fans relate to as the “Material Girl,” is back on tour.
“The Celebration Tour” has stops in Dallas, Sept. 18, Houston, Sept. 13, and Tulsa, July 27. Tickets are now on sale.
According to Madonna.com, the idea of a tour celebrating the megastar’s 40-year music career came out of a video the artist shot with a group of friends — a wink to her movie “Truth or Dare.”
In the video Amy Schumer challenged Madonna to go back on tour.
The 35-city tour is a Live Nation production and will kick off in Vancouver, BC, July 15. She will make stops in Seattle, Detroit, Chicago, New York, Miami and Los Angeles. The tour will then head to Europe for dates in 11 cities. “Celebration” wraps up in Amsterdam Dec. 1 at Ziggo Dome.
In the tour, Madonna will pay homage to New York City where she began her musical career.
“I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for,”Madonna said on her website.
