‘The Bear’ star Jeremy Allen White cast in A24 biopic about Texas pro wrestling family

Jeremy Allen White, from the Hulu drama show “The Bear”, is set to co-star alongside Zac Efron and Harris Dickinson in an A24 biopic about Texas-based professional wrestling family the Von Erich called “The Iron Claw”.
The Von Erichs did shows at Will Rogers Coliseum in Fort Worth and at the Dallas Sportatorium in the 1980s during a time when professional wrestling was a hot spot in North Texas and was televised worldwide.
White will play Kerry Von Erich, Deadline reports, with Efron and Dickinson playing Kerry’s brothers Kevin Von Erich and David Von Erich, respectively.
Canadian film director Sean Durkin is writing and directing the film which will follow the rise and fall of the wrestling family dynasty, Deadline previously reported.
A release date for “The Iron Claw” and casting for additional Von Erich family members, such as patriarch Fritz Von Erich, has not been announced.
