A new marijuana-themed sandwich shop opening in Fort Worth is all about “toasted” subs and curing the munchies.

Cheba Hut is opening its fifth Texas location on June 27 at 1217 Eighth Ave., across the street from Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center. The Colorado sub shop has other Texas locations in Dallas, Austin, Houston and San Antonio.

The sandwich shop is known for it’s “toasted subs” and marijuana-themed decor, but no actual green is included in the food.

Over 30 signature sandwiches are on the menu at Cheba, including the “Jamaican Red” (buffalo chicken), “Pakalolo” (ham, swiss and pineapple), “Chronic” (barbecue roast beef) and “A-Train” (mushroom marinara).

Plenty of munchies are available too, such as french onion soup, loaded “not’chos” and garlic cheese bread. A full bar will keep the buzz going, between a “Cheba Rita”, “Bloody Mary Jane” and “Dirty Hippie”.

The Fort Worth location is opening up under Chance Steed, who also owns the Dallas spot. Steed got into the Cheba business in March 2019, after visiting a location in Dillon, Colorado while on a snow boarding trip. That was all it took, Steed was hooked.

Soon after getting back, Steed put the pedal to the medal and signed for his first location in June 2019 — opening the Dallas restaurant in September 2020. With his eyes set on Fort Worth, Steed went ahead with a second location in North Texas.

Cheba Hut’s food won’t get anyone high, but the company promises that all patrons will leave with a full belly. The Fort Worth location opens on June 27 at 1217 Eighth Ave.
