Plans this weekend? Here are 13 live concerts and music festivals in the Fort Worth area

Spring is here and the weather is getting warmer — and that means patio season has returned in North Texas.

This weekend is expected to be mostly sunny and breezy, according to the National Weather Service, so it could be a good time to go out and enjoy what the Fort Worth area has to offer.

The Star-Telegram put together some spots for outdoor dining which, of course, includes margaritas. If you want to enhance your outdoor hangout with live music, we have just the list for you.

Whether you’re looking for a new restaurant with outdoor seating or returning to your go-to spot for live music, here are gigs in and around Fort Worth you won’t want to miss — and a few indoor performances for those wanting a break from the outdoors.

Mike and the Moonpies with Summer Dean and Sam Anderson

  • When: March 25, doors 7 p.m., show starts 8 p.m.
  • Where: Lola’s Trailer Park, 2735 W. 5th St., Fort Worth

Texas-based band Mike and the Moonpies will make their Fort Worth tour stop Friday. The band’s music is inspired by “the classic ‘countrypolitan’ music of the 1960s and early ‘70s”. Their latest album “One to Grow On” was released last year.

Granger Smith ft. Earl Dibbles Jr.

  • When: March 25, doors 6 p.m., house band 8 p.m., show starts 10 p.m.
  • Where: Billy Bob’s Texas, 2520 Rodeo Plaza, Fort Worth
  • Cost: $35-$40

Dallas-born country music singer Granger Smith is set to perform at Billy Bob’s Texas on Friday night. Songs based on Smith’s stage alter ego Earl Dibbles Jr. will also be performed. Smith said in his artist bio that Earl Dibbles Jr. was “the dessert you crave after a good meal”.

Bo Phillips Band at Fort Worth Stockyards

  • When: March 25, 9:30 p.m.-1 a.m.
  • Where: Filthy McNasty’s Saloon, 114 W. Exchange Ave., Fort Worth

Catch a show in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards at Filthy McNasty’s Saloon with a performance by the Bo Phillips Band. There’s room for dancing and no cover charge for entry.

Seth James at The Post

  • When: March 26, 2-4 p.m.
  • Where: The Post at River East, 2925 Race St., Fort Worth
  • Cost: $20 general admission, $100 reserved table for four
  • Tickets: Eventbrite

Texas native Seth James is a singer whose music has country folk and blues roots. James released his latest album “Different Hat” last year.

Lou CharLe$ at The Post

  • When: March 26, 8-11:30 p.m.
  • Where: The Post at River East, 2925 Race St., Fort Worth
  • Cost: $12 general admission, $80 reserved table for four
  • Tickets: Eventbrite

Fort Worth-based hip-hop artist will be performing alongside other artists from Fort Worth, Austin, Lubbock, and San Antonio. His latest album titled “Life Goes On” came out last year.

Jeremy Peyton at Fort Worth Stockyards

  • When: March 26, 9:30 p.m.-1 a.m.
  • Where: Filthy McNasty’s Saloon, 114 W Exchange Ave., Fort Worth


  • If you’re in the Fort Worth Stockyards Saturday night, check out this live performance by Jeremy Peyton at Filthy McNasty’s. The saloon has room for dancing and there’s no entry cover charge.

    KNON Blues Festival

    • When: March 27, starts at noon
    • Where: Lola’s Trailer Park, 2735 W. 5th St., Fort Worth
    • Cost: $20
    • Tickets: Eventbrite

    This year marks the 11th annual KNON Blues Festival, presented by community radio KNON 89.3 FM. Musical talents include James Hinkle, Miss Marcy & Her Texas Sugar Daddy’s, The Steve Hill Trio, The Silvertones and more.

    World Premiere and Tchaikovsky’s Fifth

    • When: March 25-27, Friday-Saturday, 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, 2 p.m.
    • Where: 525 Commerce St., Fort Worth
    • Cost: $25 and up
    • Tickets: Bass Performance Hall website

    Conductor Henrik Nánási directs the world premiere of music by Veronika Ágnes Fáncsik, his wife. This concert will include Richard Strauss’ Don Juan tone poem and Tchaikovsky’s transformational Symphony No. 5.

    The Playground: Musician’s Market & Festival

    • When: March 26, 6-10 p.m.
    • Where: Platinum Music Complex NRH, 7301 Northeast Loop 820, North Richland Hills
    • Cost: $10 presale, $15 at door
    • Tickets: Eventbrite

    Hosted at the Platinum Music Complex in North Richland Hills, this festival will have performances by local rock bands Somebody Else, Hollow Grove, We Decree and more.

    The Night Owls at The Point on Lake Worth

    • When: March 25, 7 p.m.
    • Where: 1349 Bomber Road, Fort Worth

    Kick back at The Point on Lake Worth with a cold beverage, warm food and a live performance by local band The Night Owls. The band plays a little bit of everything, from Beatles covers to original works.

    Weatherford Music Festival

    • When: March 26-27
    • Where: Heritage Park, 317 Santa Fe Drive, Weatherford
    • Cost: One day $10, Two days $20, VIP two day $75
    • Tickets: Eventbrite

    Over 50 musical artists across various genres will perform at the Weatherford Music Festival. This family-friendly event will include food vendors and kid zones. VIP two day tickets include parking, shuttle service, hospitality tent access, artist meet and greets, and more.

    Crushin’ It: The Brad Paisley Tribute

    • When: March 26, doors 7 p.m., show starts 9 p.m.
    • Where: Roanoke ChopShop Live, 309 S Oak St, Roanoke
    • Cost: $8, day off $10

    Come watch a live performance from Texas-based Brad Paisley tribute band Crushin’ It. The band’s deep country roots “hits the sweet spot for a top-quality modern country arena tribute.”

    Shrek the Musical

    • When: March 25-April 3, various times
    • Where: Casa Manana
    • Cost: $19 and up
    • Tickets: Ticketmaster

    All the characters from the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film Shrek come to life in this Tony-award winning experience. This young adult version of the musical makes for a family-fun event.
