The Ticket has a new ‘Hardline’ host as Bob Sturm moves from midday to afternoons
The Ticket has a new co-host of the “The Hardline.”
The afternoon show on KTCK/1310 AM and 96.7 FM “The Ticket” will be Bob Sturm, who has hosted the midday show with Dan McDowell for 20 years.
“This is very exciting but equally weird,” Sturm said.
“The Hardline” had been without a co-host since Mike Rhyner announced his retirement on Jan. 7. Rhyner, 69, a Texas Radio Hall of Famer and one of the creators of “The Ticket,” had been a co-host on the show since the station went on the air in January 1994. Corby Davidson, who attended TCU, has been a co-host since 2007.
“If you’ve been listening acutely over the last six weeks you have heard the names of many people run in and out of here,” Davidson said before announcing the news at the start of Monday’s show.
The new “Hardline” pairing begins Tuesday.
Jake Kemp, who grew up in North Richland Hills, has been a midday producer and fill-in host for all of the shows on the station, will join McDowell as a co-host from noon to 3 p.m.
