Congrats Titletown, TX: Series wins 3 Lone Star Emmys

Titletown, TX, a video series produced by the Star-Telegram and its parent company McClatchy, won three Lone Star Emmys on Nov. 11 in San Antonio.

The regional Emmys are a division of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and recognize excellence in broadcasting.

They are the first in the history of the Star-Telegram.

Titletown, TX, features the Aledo High football team and community as it pursues a state championship. The Bearcats’ season details the pressures and success on behalf of players, as well as coaches and families.

The show is currently being featured on Facebook’s Watch platform, one of the few local news productions to be selected when the social media company debuted Watch earlier this year.

Jared Christopher, Jessica Koscielniak, Jonathan Forsythe and Rick Press spearheaded the project, and were honored with regional Emmys.

“All of us here at the Star-Telegram beam with pride from the success and well-deserved accolades that Titletown, TX, and Jared and our colleagues from the McClatchy Video Lab have garnered,” Star-Telegram Publisher Sean Burke said. “We couldn’t be more proud of them and how they’ve set the bar for our industry in this space.”
