Along with welcome cooler nights, the Bands on the Bricks happy hour series in Sundance Square Plaza is back for the fall beginning Thursday night with a free concert by Grady Spencer & the Work.

The concerts in the downtown square will be every Thursday in September and October beginning at 6 p.m.

Lawn chairs and blankets are OK to bring along, but coolers and outside food and drink are verboten. Adult beverages will be available for purchase.

Grady Spencer & the Work is a self-described blue-collar band making blue collar music and is based in Fort Worth. The band combines old-time blues with classic country “to forge a well-worn hammer of modern music” in a high-energy show.

Next Thursday’s featured band is Ricki Derek and His Big Band, followed by Castro on Sept. 21 (remember Jason Castro from “American Idol’s” season 7?), Griffin House on Sept. 28, Jared Deck on Oct. 5, The Rocketboys on Oct. 12, Latin Express on Oct. 19 and Leigh Nash on Oct. 26.

For more information on the concert series, check out the Sundance Square website or call 817-255-5700.

On Saturday, you can get your day started with a free Zumba class in the square beginning at 8:30 a.m. The class is taught by instructors from the Amon Carter Jr. Downtown YMCA and runs on Saturdays through Sept. 23.
