The World’s 50 Best Beaches, which recently released the 2023 edition of its annual list, is the most recent attempt to rank the earth’s most exquisite coastlines. According to TimeOut, the website consulted with more than 750 travel writers, experts, and influencers to develop its ranking.
It is “without a doubt the most accurate and thoroughly researched list of beaches ever compiled,” according to the website, which, as many will highlight, is not beyond dispute.
Lucky Bay in Esperance, Western Australia, topped the list of the world’s 50 best beaches. The white sands and turquoise waters of this five-kilometer stretch of sand are well-known attractions in their own right, but it’s also a fun place to go diving, canoeing, and kangaroo-watching.
Second on the list is the Seychelles’ Anse Source D’Argent, praised for its beautiful granite boulders; third is the Philippines’ Hidden Beach, a secluded cove that can only be reached by boat.
