Corona Sunsets Festival World Tour makes sunsets and sustainability headlining acts
A music festival where the sunset is the headliner? Sign us up. The Corona Sunsets Festival World Tour is the first of its kind.
The official press release for the tour classified it as an “experiential festival dedicated to connecting people with nature by celebrating the sunset. The festivals will feature experiences inspired by the magical qualities of the sunset.”
The brainchild of international beverage brand, Corona, the festival kicked off April 1 in South Africa. Thousands around the globe will get to enjoy the innovative celebration that merges music and nature.
The festival will visit countries such as Chile, Peru, Colombia, Japan, Italy, Canada, China, Greece, Brazil, Dominican Republic, India and more.
Guests won’t have to worry about the confinements of traditional concert arenas as the new release states the events will take place in natural outdoor settings. It lists iconic wonders such as “the beaches of Goa in India and Okinawa in Japan” as destinations.
Organizers noted each location was specifically selected “to immerse guests in their natural surroundings and give them a front-row seat to the world’s most breathtaking sunsets, which take center stage as the evening’s ultimate headliner.”
Felipe Ambra, Global Corona Vice President, hopes the festival will remind people to take a “few moments from your busy life to enjoy the sunset.”
“With these festivals, we hope to share our love of nature by making guests more aware of their environment and hopefully inspire them to become agents of positive change in their communities,” Ambra said. “This is a new experiential festival done the Corona way. With this tour, we hope to amplify the feeling of relaxation and rejuvenation that nature provides us while working to leave the world a better place than we found it.”
Continuing with the theme of celebrating the sun and natural surroundings, sustainability is also a focus of the Corona Sunsets Festival World Tour. Festival goers will get to engage with local organizations that lead initiatives inspiring action around sustainable and eco-friendly living practices for each country’s community. Corona has also pledged to eliminate single-use plastics throughout the entire festival.
The focus on sustainability continues beyond nature. The tour also plans to work with local vendors and artists to highlight and support the local beauty of every environment. Each tour stop will have unique experiences curated for that specific location, such as eco-friendly culinary experiences and other offerings. Corona, the first global beverage brand with a net zero plastic footprint, partnered with non-profit partner Oceanic Global to “implement a comprehensive sustainability criterion throughout the festival design.”
The brand also brought Fly South Music Group aboard to assist in building lineups full of local artists, international musicians and DJs who will perform as the sunset takes center stage.
