These two cities will soon host Barbie-themed pop-up cafes
Now that the trailer for Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” is out, Barbie girls around the world are counting down the days until July, when they can finally find out what goes down in Barbieland. To further feed into the desire to live in Barbie’s world, a new pop-up Malibu Barbie Cafe will be visiting two major cities to amp up the doll vibes, so have your most vibrant brunch attire on deck.
Together, Bucket Listers and Mattel created the two unique cafe environments. The pop-ups boast a life-size Barbie box, exclusive goods, and numerous Barbie photo ops that will transport visitors back in time to Malibu, California in the 1970s.
“MasterChef” contestant and semi-finalist Becky Brown will be responsible for the cuisine. California Dreamin’ Club Sandwiches, West Coast Wave Wedge Salads, and Pacific Paradise Pancakes will all be on the menu.
In the past, Bucket Listers has hosted events like a Golden Girls-themed pop-up restaurant and a circus-themed brunch, complete with sword swallowers and contortionists, notes TODAY. Now they are capitalizing on the excitement surrounding the live-action, theatrical debut of the beloved doll.
The New York location will be open from May 17 to September 15, 2023, while the Chicago Cafe will welcome its first customers on June 7 and remain open until September 15 as well. The Chicago pop-up will be at a secret site on W. Jackson Boulevard, while the New York City pop-up will be in the heart of the city, at City Hall Park.
You can bring the whole family or simply your closest friends, as this is an event suitable for people of all ages. Tickets have a starting price of $35 for children and $50 for adults and includes a meal, a choice of entree and side, and a guaranteed seating time.
On April 19, they will officially go on sale on Bucketlisters.com, which features New York and Chicago-specific pages, but you can lock in your spot now, as the queue for tickets is already open.
