Ways to enjoy airport travel in case Chris Brown tosses your cell phone into a crowd
During a recent performance, R&B singer Chris Brown threw a fan’s phone into the crowd after she failed to give him her full attention.
Brown picked the lucky fan out of the crowd and invited her on stage while he performed his steamy hit, “Take You Down.”
The young woman happily sat in the chair, but instead of enjoying the moment, she took out her cell phone and recorded the intimate performance.
Brown attempted to hint at a “no recording” policy before he started the dance by placing the fan’s upright phone back in her lap. As he started to perform, she rarely gave the Grammy award winner any eye contact and was more concerned with recording the interaction.
Brown continued with his choreography for the song and noticed the woman was recording again. Annoyed, the singer took the phone from the fan and tossed it into the crowd.
A person in the crowd shared the awkward moment on her TikTok.
Luckily the fan was able to retrieve her phone - but what if there was an alternate ending?
The majority of the world utilizes smartphones. We are constantly connected to the internet, social media, navigation and any other app our heart desires. Our cell phones have become more than a travel and communication essential, but have evolved into a life essential. We’ve all had those moments of panic when we can’t find our cell. However, sometimes it’s good to disconnect, even while you travel. While most of us won’t be without our phones because of a disgruntled R&B singer, here are some alternatives to keep your attention without a screen involved.
1. Grab a book - We know audio books have become the easier alternative, but nothing beats flipping the pages of a hardback. If you forget to bring your favorite book from home, most airports have kiosks in them that sell books, newspapers and magazines.

2. Coloring/Sketching- Coloring isn’t just for kids anymore. Adult coloring books can be a great way to lessen anxiety and calm the stress of travel or everyday life. Keeping a sketchbook with you is the perfect alternative to capture an image of the annoying passenger that stood up before the cabin doors opened.

3. Take a nap - While there can be restrictions around napping during airport travel; short layover, traveling alone, fear of losing luggage. If you are able to grab a 20 min to 30 min nap during your flight or at your gate, you’re sure to feel refreshed when you reach your destination. The National Sleep Foundation says a 20 minute nap is the best length. A short nap like this allows your mind and body to rest without entering the deeper stages of sleep. Power naps taken in the early afternoon usually last 15 to 20 minutes and can restore and refresh you when experiencing a natural decline in energy and wakefulness. Check and see if your airport offers sleeping pods or rest areas.

4. Journaling - Traveling is a great time for reflection. Without the distraction of your cell phone you can put your thoughts to paper. Your journaling can be for emotional release, life planning, or just jotting down thoughts about your next destination. Guided planners are a great way to get your creative juices flowing.

5. Strike a conversation - Constantly using our cell phones has robbed some of us of the joy of person-to-person communication. Starting a conversation with someone could possibly lead to an eventful turn in your travel plans. However we encourage you to follow all safety and personal intuitions when choosing someone to have a conversation with, but sometimes a smile and “hello” can lead to something great.
