A Mobile Mattress Showroom Is Rolling Through Dallas-Fort Worth, Bringing the Store to Your Driveway

Mattress shopping often means driving from store to store, lying down for a few minutes in a brightly lit showroom, then making a decision that’s supposed to last years.

iSense, a sleep technology brand focused on customizable mattresses, is trying to change that by bringing the showroom directly to customers.

iSense has launched a mobile showroom in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, offering in-home consultations where customers can test products without leaving their driveway. The concept, which the company describes as an early entrant in the category, is rolling out locally as part of a pilot program.

Instead of visiting a retail location, customers schedule an appointment online, and a fully equipped iSense mobile showroom arrives at their home. Inside, they can try iSense’s adjustable hybrid mattresses, walk through features with a company representative and get a sense of how the product feels in a more familiar setting.

For CEO and founder Paul Longman, the idea comes from decades in the mattress industry and a sense that the traditional buying process hasn’t kept up with how people shop today.

“This mobile mattress showroom brings everything to you,” Longman said. “I’ve spent 37 years in the mattress industry, and I’ve grown up in it. I’ve seen the best of the best, and all the different components that make some of the most amazing mattresses.”

The company’s core product centers on what it calls an adjustable hybrid design, with dual-sided controls that allow each sleeper to customize firmness and support independently. Longman describes it as offering a wide range of adjustable comfort settings, which can be changed in real time using a remote.

“By stepping into the mobile showroom, shoppers can experience a version of the in-store showroom format in a more flexible setting,” he said. “The benefit of this format, according to the company, is that the iSense product offers a wide range of adjustable comfort settings, with dual controls on both sides. So essentially, at the touch of a remote, you can firm up, create more pressure relief, you can increase the support level, all at the touch of a button.”

The mobile showroom itself is designed to replicate a traditional retail environment, with full-size mattress displays and demonstration tools. The difference is the setting. Instead of testing a mattress under store lighting and time pressure, customers are evaluating it at home, where factors like room layout, lighting, and general comfort can influence the decision.

That shift is part of a broader push toward more personalized retail experiences, especially in home-related categories. The Dallas-Fort Worth area, one of the fastest-growing regions in the country, was selected as the launch market in part because of its mix of new homeowners and demand for customizable home products.

The company sees the mobile model as a way to meet customers where they are, both literally and in terms of expectations. Many consumers have grown used to trying products at home before committing, whether through trial periods, online customization tools, or direct-to-consumer delivery.

iSense is leaning into that trend by combining consultation, demonstration, and purchase into a single visit.

For shoppers who may not want to visit multiple stores, this format offers another option. When decisions in showrooms create discomfort, personal appointments can offer relief, supporting the ease with which questions are asked. Adjustments to the mattress can happen slowly, shaped by individual needs, helping to lower the pressure.

A trial version of the mobile showroom is now in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, offering set visits throughout. If early results support continued expansion, iSense plans to bring the concept to additional markets. The company’s roadmap includes quarterly deployment targets, with multiple units expected to roll out over the coming years.
