The season has not gone the way many (OK, me) expected, but there are still, like, 4,343 games remaining before the beginning of the NHL playoffs.
The Stars, which last season made the playoffs for the first time in five years, were expected to be better than this. They are better than this. Rather than sitting near the top of the NHL’s Western Conference, the team is coughing along at a brisk 19-16-7 clip. They are four points out of the playoffs, but ... there is hope.
There are several months remaining to the NHL’s season, and the Stars still are loaded at forwards with Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn, Ales Hemsky and Jason Spezza. There is time.
