Ron Washington looks great, sounds the same, but it was odd to see him back in Arlington at the Ballpark wearing an Oakland Athletics uniform.

On Tuesday, the former Rangers manager returned to Arlington for the beginning of a three-game series on Tuesday between the A’s and Rangers. It was the first time he was back at the park since he resigned on Sept. 5, 2014. He left the Rangers citing personal reasons, which he later admitted to having an affair.

A lot of Rangers on Tuesday came looking for Wash’, who admitted he misses managing the team.

As much as I have come to like new Texas Rangers manager Jeff Banister and his intellect, I will always miss and respect Washington’s enthusiasm, candor and sincerity. He is a true original.
