Undercard, telecast set for Canelo Alvarez-Liam Smith fight at AT&T Stadium

Three undercard fights on the Canelo Alvarez vs. Liam “Beefy” Smith main event will be part of the HBO pay-per-view telecast at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, home of the Dallas Cowboys.

The Alvarez vs. Smith 12-round WBO Junior Middleweight World Championship fight will be Saturday, Sept. 17. The pay-per-view telecast begins at 8 p.m. Arlington time.

“King” Gabriel Rosado (23-9, 13 knockouts, 1 no decision) of Philadelphia takes on Willie “El Mongoose” Monroe, Jr. (20-2, 6 KOs) of Rochester, N.Y. in a 12-round, middleweight bout as the co-main event to Alvarez vs. Smith.

Former U.S. Olympian Joseph “Jojo” Diaz, Jr. (21-0, 12 KOs) of So. El Monte, Calif. will be making his second defense of his NABF Featherweight title in a 10-round fight against Andrew “El Chango” Cancio (17-3-2, 13 KOs) of Blythe, Calif.

The telecast will open with Diego De La Hoya (15-0, 9 KOs) of Mexicali, Mexico, taking on Luis “Orlandito” Orlando Del Valle (22-2, 16 KOs) of Bayamon, Puerto Rico in a 10-round fight.

Doors open at 2:30 p.m.

Tickets are available by phone at 800-745-3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Walk-up purchases can be made 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday at the AT&T Stadium box office. Prices range from $40 to $750, not including applicable service charges. Total ticket limit is eight per person.
