The fifth annual Travis Roten/Lee Hamilton Memorial Tennis Tournament is scheduled for Tuesday though Thursday at the indoor tennis courts at TCU’s Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The tournament, which consist of eight doubles teams in the 60-over division and six doubles teams in the 70-over division, includes local players, as well as players from Beaumont, Houston, Austin and Amarillo.
A players’ dinner is scheduled for Tuesday at Pappa’s Burgers at 2700 West Freeway in Fort Worth. The featured speaker will be three-time American League MVP first baseman Eddie Robinson, who was a four-time All-Star during his career (1942, 1946-57).
The tournament is in memory of Travis Roten, a former senior player, who competed in local and national tournaments, and Lee Hamilton, a former executive director and chief operating officer of the USTA. Hamilton was also the past president of USTA Texas.
