About the Jets: Winnipeg comes off a 5-3 defeat at Minnesota on Tuesday. The Jets are 0-2-1 in their past three games. The combo of Blake Wheeler and Bryan Little entered Wednesday’s play with 35 points, ranked third among NHL teammates.

About the Stars: The Stars’ three-game winning streak was snapped with a 3-2 loss to Toronto on Tuesday night. The Maple Leafs rallied with two goals in the final 7  1/2 minutes to stun the Stars in Dallas. The Leafs entered the game tied for the NHL low in points. “It’s unacceptable,” Stars defenseman Jason Demers said, via the Stars website. He called the Central Division games against Winnipeg and Minnesota (Saturday in Dallas) “the two biggest games of the year” because of the value winning division games in a tight race. The Stars’ high-scoring duo, Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn, were held without a point Tuesday. ... The Stars assigned defenseman Patrik Nemeth to their AHL affiliate Texas on a conditioning assignment. Forward Devin Shore also was reassigned to Texas.
