The mixed-use development project at The Star in Frisco, home to the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters, reached another milestone with the ceremonial topping out of the 16-floor, 300-room Omni Frisco Hotel Wednesday morning.

A Leyland Cypresstree was hoisted to the top floor of the property. The move is a longtime construction tradition symbolizing appreciation and good fortune.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was among the many officials attending the event.

The Omni Frisco Hotel, a cornerstone of the development, will open next summer. The hotel will have 300 guest rooms, meeting space and a ballroom, and a rooftop pool deck.

Jeff Smith will be the hotel’s general manager.
