Former Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle’s latest arrest came after he hit three people with a car and then broke through the front door of a home he had been asked to leave, police said Monday.
Wichita, Kan., Police Lt. James Espinoza said Randle was ordered to leave a housewarming party early Sunday after getting into an argument. While backing out of the driveway, police say, he hit the 29-year-old man and 27-year-old woman who own the home and a 26-year-old man. Espinoza said the three weren’t seriously injured, and retreated to the home as Randle left.
Espinoza said Randle returned moments later and broke through the front door. Espinoza said police arrived and arrested Randle, who was in possession of marijuana. Espinoza said he didn’t know what caused the argument.
Randle was jailed on $100,000 bond on suspicion of aggravated battery, drug possession and criminal damage to property. No charges were immediately filed, but investigators plan to present the case to prosecutors Wednesday. Espinoza said he didn’t know if Randle had an attorney.
It was Randle’s fifth arrest in the last 17 months. The Cowboys cut him in November.
