Linebacker Rolando McClain is going through concussion protocol this week, coach Jason Garrett said Monday.

McClain exited Sunday’s game after being kicked in the head by teammate Jeff Heath in the fourth quarter, and vomited on the sidelines. But McClain passed initial concussion protocol on the sidelines and returned to the game before undergoing more concussion tests afterward.

McClain exited the Cowboys’ two playoff games early with concussion-like symptoms last year, and also has dealt with at least one other concussion.

With McClain in concussion protocol, no one knows when he will pass and until he does, he won’t practice.

Cornerback Morris Claiborne, meanwhile, is dealing with another hamstring injury. Claiborne said it’s not as serious as the one that sidelined him for two games last month, and Garrett echoed those thoughts on Monday.

“We’ll take it day by day, but we don’t think it’s a severe injury so we’ll see how he does here the next couple of days,” Garrett said.
